The Last Frontier Host Health Condition
Otto Kilcher from Alaska: The Last Frontier was injured during a treacherous snowstorm.
During the first episode of Season 11, Otto Kilcher was critically mauled by an ox (also known as a steer) in a severe snowstorm.
The Kilchers have returned! Season 11 of Alaska: The Last Frontier premiered on Sunday, Oct. 9, and fans quickly learned that one of the main characters, Otto Kilcher, had been injured.
Moreover, his untimely injury cast doubt on how the rest of the season would unfold and how his family would manage the homestead without him.
Despite the fact that the extent of his injuries is unknown, he appears to be doing well at the present. Otto has been actively promoting the season on social media, and we can see from his posts that he has resumed his regular homestead work.

One of his most recent posts, in fact, shows him riding a horse. Following the Season 11 premiere, Otto shared an Instagram video of the events leading up to the terrifying encounter.
Additionally, he said hello to his friends and fans even though he didn't return back to the show. He is heard saying hello to the camera, seemingly aware that he is approaching a dangerous situation, and we can see from the video that he was traveling through a pretty heavy snowfall prior to the incident.
Furthermore, we can also see him approaching a herd of oxen in the distance, so we can assume that one of those oxen is responsible for his attack. It's also unclear how the incident occurred, but it did necessitate the involvement of emergency personnel.
