Boise restaurant break-in: Boise Police release security camera footage

Boise Police have released more information about a break-in at Alyonka Russian Cuisine restaurant on State St. in Boise.

A spokesperson for the BPD tells CBS2 that just before 3 a.m. on Monday morning an adult male suspect used a large rock to break the glass door of the business. The suspect entered the restaurant and stole money from the register.

Security footage from the restaurant has been released by BPD:

Alyonka's owner, Elena, spoke with CBS2 Monday evening via online messages. She expressed that it has been a devastating experience but that she still believes in Boise, and the kindness and support of the community has been "overwhelming."

Elena believes the suspect was driven by a search for money. She believes he was possibly looking for a safe as well after emptying the cash register, though there wasn't one to find. Elena said in messages sent to CBS2 that she is just glad he didn't break anything else and that no one was hurt.

Boise Police ask that anyone who recognizes this individual contact them immediately with any information: Ada County non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790.
